About the Fair
As in many countries around the world, shopping habits have started to change in Turkey in parallel with the increase in inflation. Consumers are now opting for private label (PL) products, which are relatively more affordable, in many categories ranging from food to personal care. PL, which has increased its share in retail companies' revenue to 30%, has reached 50% in terms of unit sales.
Looking at the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Private Label Trends, 51% of consumers compare the prices of PL products with leading brands. Moreover, 60% of the respondents say they prefer PL more now compared to the past. Price is the primary motivation for this shift towards these products, cited by 54% of consumers. The perception of a better price-performance balance and the increasing quality of store brands are other prominent reasons for this preference.
