Türkiye Becomes a Strategic Hub in Lubricants
Istanbul, Türkiye – The lubricants industry is set to convene in Istanbul! The Eurasian Lubricants Show 2025, organized in cooperation with the Lubricant and Petroleum Products Industrialists' Association (MAPESAD), will bring together over 100 brands specializing in lubricants, industrial oils, chemicals, and additives. The event, to be held at the Istanbul Expo Center from October 1-3, 2025, will host over 4,000 industry professionals from Türkiye, the MENA region, Turkic Republics, the Balkans, and Europe.
Highlighting Türkiye's rising role, MAPESAD President Tayfun Koçak stated that the country's strong production capacity and strategic location have made it a critical player in the rapidly growing global lubricants market.
"Türkiye is no longer just a regional production base; it is progressing with confident strides towards becoming a strategic player in the global value chain," Koçak said.
TÜRKİYE'S STRATEGIC POSITION
Koçak provided key market figures: "In 2023, Türkiye produced approximately 754,000 tons of finished lubricants, with domestic market consumption reaching 269,000 tons. This consumption consisted of approximately 40% automotive oils, 55% industrial oils, and 5% special-purpose oils. In 2024, Türkiye's finished lubricant production reached around 825,000 tons."
He also commented on the global market outlook: "The global lubricants market was valued at $172.1 billion in 2023 and grew to $175.5 billion in 2024. It is projected to reach $205.6 billion by 2032. Türkiye's market volume increased to $4.5 billion in 2024 and is expected to rise to $5 billion by the end of 2025."
Koçak added, "We expect our fair to stand out as a platform that will carry this potential forward. Our fair aims to shape the future of the industry through new collaborations, technological innovations, and sustainable solutions."
